A day to care for the land together with Lantrip's PTO, students and neighbors!
Everyone welcome! Kids must be accompanied by an adult.
An interactive tour of the different zones / microclimates is always available on Sparkle Days!This Sparkle Day's special project will be preparing for the Lantrip Earth Day Festival Plant Sale!
We have a lot of fragant mistflower sprouts to put into pots. This plant is very popular with the monarchs and other pollinators in the fall!
We also have mulberry cuttings and other fun plants to prepare! -
π± Practical Permaculture: Fruit Tree Pruning π± Saturday, April 11th π± 10 AM - 12 PM π±
Carol Burton from Urban Harvest's Permaculture program will be leading a hands-on skill share on fruit tree pruning!

Enjoy an interactive tour of the prairie, garden, orchard and courtyard!
We'll get to snack on berries and such as we amble around, observe pollinators and enjoy!Amongst other activities, we'll also be hosting a plant sale to benefit the Lantrip PTO Teacher Appreciation Fund!

The Land
It is a land of abundance in partnership with its people, pollinators and other natural friends.
The land is currently serving as an orchard / prairie / garden for Lantrip Elementary and the Eastwood neighborhood, in care of students, teachers, parents, admin, community partners and neighbors. It is home to more than 8 fig trees, 3 mulberry trees, and at least 10 other fruit trees, a growing number of host plants for pollinators, and much more.
Previously Northern Humid Gulf Coastal Prairie in care of the peoples of Coahuiltecan, Sana, Karankawa, Ishak (Atakapa), and Estoβk Gna (Carrizo/Comecrudo).
